Fossil Macro

I was back home in Ireland over the weekend, and thought that a little fossil that I picked up off a beach 30 odd years ago in County Louth would make for an interesting macro shot. These were all taken with my 100mm Macro, an ETTL cable, and a diffuser on my flash.

I’m guessing these are some sort of segmented worms. Some close ups of what appear to be mouth parts. I’ll stop there before I get too technical :).

I guess the Smithsonian won’t be beating my door down to buy it from me but what the heck. The new cable and diffuser are attempts to get a bit more adept with the flash. Shooting off camera is all well and good, but the camera starts to get heavy very quickly if you are operating without a tripod.
